Under the guidance of NCW Chairperson Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, NCW, in collaboration with TCS, conducted a PoSH training workshop for Internal Committee (IC) members and senior HR representatives from TCS’s Southern offices.

With 150+ participants from six regional centres—Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam—the workshop addressed practical challenges, key provisions of the PoSH Act and queries faced by IC members.

NCW will conduct such training programmes in phases for IC members across TCS offices nationwide, strengthening effective, fair and time-bound mechanisms to prevent and address workplace sexual harassment.

As part of the National Commission for Women’s flagship initiative, “She Serves”, envisioned by Hon’ble Chairperson Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, an awareness programme was organised at Anna Bhau Sathe Hall, Pune, to encourage young women to explore opportunities in the Armed Forces and other uniformed services.

Flight Lieutenant Ms. Preeti Singh addressed nearly 800 students, providing insights into career opportunities in the Army, Air Force and other defence services, while guiding participants on the selection process and highlighting the values of leadership, discipline and physical fitness.

Through She Serves, the National Commission for Women seeks to empower young women with the knowledge, confidence and motivation to pursue careers in the uniformed services and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognizance of the reported kidnapping, forced intoxication and sexual assault of a 14-year-old minor girl in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The Commission has expressed grave concern over the incident, which raises serious issues relating to the safety and protection of minor girls and the urgent need for stringent action against sexual offences.

Hon’ble Chairperson, National Commission for Women, Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, has written to the Director General of Police, Karnataka, seeking immediate intervention to ensure a swift and impartial investigation, expeditious filing of a comprehensive chargesheet under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and meticulous collection of all forensic, medical and digital evidence. The Chairperson has also called for security, victim compensation, legal assistance and psychological counselling for the minor and her family, enhanced police vigilance in vulnerable areas, and has sought an Action Taken Report (ATR) within 7 days.

राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग ने सहायक प्रजनन तकनीक (ART), IVF क्लीनिकों तथा महिलाओं के प्रजनन अधिकारों के संरक्षण से जुड़े मुद्दों का अध्ययन करने के लिए एक विशेषज्ञ समिति का गठन किया है।

आज उस समिति की पहली बैठक हुई। इस बैठक में विशेषज्ञ समिति की अध्यक्ष, दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय की पूर्व न्यायाधीश माननीय न्यायमूर्ति आशा मेनन सहित समिति के सभी सम्मानित सदस्य उपस्थित रहे।

बैठक में सूचित सहमति (Informed Consent), पारदर्शिता, जैविक अनुरेखण (Biological Traceability), गोपनीयता, शिकायत निवारण तथा जवाबदेही से जुड़े सुरक्षा उपायों को और सुदृढ़ बनाने के साथ-साथ ART क्षेत्र में उभरती चुनौतियों एवं कथित अनियमितताओं पर विस्तृत चर्चा की गई।

यह समिति महिलाओं के अधिकारों की बेहतर सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए नीतिगत, विधिक एवं प्रक्रियागत सुधारों संबंधी अनुशंसाएँ प्रस्तुत करेगी। साथ ही, ART एवं IVF केंद्रों के लिए मानक संचालन प्रक्रिया (SOP) तथा सर्वोत्तम कार्यप्रणालियों (Best Practices) का भी सुझाव देगी, ताकि नैतिक उपचार पद्धतियों को बढ़ावा मिले, चिकित्सकीय प्रक्रियाओं में एकरूपता आए और पूरे क्षेत्र में अधिक पारदर्शिता सुनिश्चित की जा सके।

राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की अपेक्षा बताते हुए मैंने कहा कि प्रजनन स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं का आधार महिलाओं की गरिमा, उनकी स्वतंत्र पसंद, पारदर्शिता और जवाबदेही होना चाहिए। ART सेवाओं का लाभ लेने वाली प्रत्येक महिला को सुरक्षित, नैतिक एवं सम्मानजनक उपचार के साथ-साथ उसके अधिकारों का पूर्ण संरक्षण सुनिश्चित किया जाना चाहिए।

मुझे पूर्ण विश्वास है कि विभिन्न क्षेत्रों के प्रतिष्ठित विशेषज्ञों से युक्त यह समिति गहन अध्ययन एवं व्यापक विचार-विमर्श के आधार पर महिलाओं के हित में समग्र, व्यावहारिक और दूरदर्शी अनुशंसाएँ प्रस्तुत करेगी।

कन्नौज स्थित सखी वन स्टॉप सेंटर (OSC) का निरीक्षण कर वहाँ उपलब्ध सुविधाओं, सेवाओं एवं शिकायत निवारण व्यवस्था की समीक्षा की। अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि प्रत्येक पीड़ित महिला को त्वरित, संवेदनशील और गरिमापूर्ण सहायता उपलब्ध कराना सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता होनी चाहिए।

इसके पश्चात आयोजित कार्यक्रम में विभिन्न जनकल्याणकारी योजनाओं के अंतर्गत लाभार्थियों को लाभ वितरित किए। साथ ही नवजात शिशुओं के अन्नप्राशन संस्कार एवं गोद भराई कार्यक्रम में सहभागिता की तथा महिलाओं को मोबाइल फोन, बच्चों को वित्तीय सहायता के चेक और विभिन्न संस्थानों को वैज्ञानिक उपकरण प्रदान किए।

The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognizance of the reported death of an 18-year-old student inside a hostel at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, as reported by The Hindu. The Commission has expressed deep concern over the tragic incident and the allegations surrounding the circumstances of her death.

Hon’ble Chairperson, National Commission for Women, Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, has written to the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, seeking a thorough and impartial investigation, detailed forensic and digital examination of all evidence, and an inquiry into possible institutional lapses, including the handling of the student’s medical condition, academic stress, and the availability of counselling and support mechanisms. The Chairperson has also called for necessary support to be extended to the bereaved family and sought an Action Taken Report (ATR) from the DGP within 7 days.

The National Commission for Women remains committed to ensuring a fair, transparent, and time-bound investigation so that the truth is established and justice is delivered. #suomotu

महिला जनसुनवाई | कन्नौज | 10 जुलाई 2026

राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की माननीय अध्यक्षा श्रीमती विजया रहाटकर की अध्यक्षता में कन्नौज के हर्षवर्धन सभागार, विकास भवन में आयोजित महिला जनसुनवाई में कुल 55 मामलों की सुनवाई की गई, जिनमें 35 पूर्व-पंजीकृत एवं लगभग 20 मौके पर प्राप्त शिकायतें शामिल थीं। दो मामलों में एफआईआर दर्ज कराने एवं तत्काल कार्रवाई के निर्देश देते हुए मौके पर ही समाधान सुनिश्चित किया गया।

माननीय अध्यक्षा ने पुलिस अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिया कि वे शिकायतों के गुण-दोष का स्वयं निर्णयकर्ता न बनें, बल्कि संवेदनशीलता के साथ निष्पक्ष एवं त्वरित कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित करें, ताकि प्रत्येक महिला को समयबद्ध न्याय मिल सके।
