टाइम्स नाउ नवभारत की पत्रकार ज्योति मिश्रा के साथ कथित अपहरण और दुर्व्यवहार की खबर बेहद गंभीर और निंदनीय है।
लोकतांत्रिक आंदोलन की आड़ में यदि किसी उपद्रवी तत्व ने किसी महिला पत्रकार के साथ अभद्रता या हिंसा की है, तो ऐसे लोगों के लिए किसी भी प्रकार की सहानुभूति नहीं हो सकती।
उग्र भीड़ से अपनी जान बचाने के लिए ज्योति मिश्रा को एक बैंक में लगभग तीन घंटे तक शरण लेनी पड़ी। इस दौरान कथित रूप से पीसीआर टीम को भी उनकी मदद के लिए पहुँचने से रोका गया, उन पर पथराव किया गया और वे लंबे समय तक बैंक के भीतर फँसी रहीं।
अंततः डीसीपी रोहित राजबीर स्वयं मौके पर पहुँचे और उनका सुरक्षित रेस्क्यू कराया।

पत्रकार की सुरक्षा पर हमला लोकतंत्र पर हमला है। दोषी चाहे किसी भी संगठन, समूह या विचारधारा से जुड़े हों, उनकी निष्पक्ष जांच हो और यदि आरोप सही पाए जाएँ तो कानून के अनुसार कठोर कार्रवाई की जाए।
