Son was playing with another kid at the park today, and I got to talking with his dad.
He said he was a surgeon, and mostly operates using a robot.
He excitedly shared a story about an elderly woman he recently operated on.
She needed surgery on her abdomen, and he said the same surgery just a few years ago would have been major, requiring her to stay in the hospital for weeks.
Because the robot allows him to make such small incisions, she was back home in less than 48 hours!
Amazing how fast tech is changing healthcare, for the better.
