The Russian FSB has issued an international warrant for Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram. The Russian regime authorities accuse him of "aiding and abetting terrorism", after Telegram hasn't complied in shutting down Ukrainian channels.
It is more likely that Telegram allowed information to spread regarding Russia's battlefield failures and the unfolding crisis concerning Wildberries and the destroyed oil refineries.
BREAKING: RIGHTEOUS FURY! Rep. Ted Lieu humiliates Trump's UN Ambassador for getting "fired" from his last job during an explosive hearing — and Waltz absolutely loses it.
This is EXACTLY how you trigger a thin-skinned MAGA goon...
"American service members are in the Middle East risking their lives in the war with Iran," said Lieu. "How many U.S. troops have been wounded in the Iran War?"
"My understanding from the Defense Department's latest numbers is over 100, but about 70% or 90% of those have immediately returned to duty," replied Ambassador Mike Waltz.
"Okay, that number is wrong," Lieu said bluntly. "According to the Defense Calculated Analysis System, 482 American troops have been wounded. Now, it's not surprising to me that you did not know the answer to that. The reason you are here today and in your position is because you were fired by the president from your former position as National Security Advisor—"
"The President has never said a negative word about me—" raged back Waltz.
"You disclosed classified information that harmed American pilots and put them at risk!" said Lieu.
"That's your spin, I guess, for your next campaign commercial. I don't know," said Waltz.
There was no "spin" involved in the congressman's assessment. Waltz was removed as National Security Advisor after the infamous SignalGate incident in which he accidentally added the editor of The Atlantic to a group chat where administration officials were discussing strikes on the Houthis in Yemen. It was a stunning security breach that could have easily resulted in dead Americans had he added someone connected to foreign intelligence. The man is an incompetent buffoon who was given the U.N. Ambassadorship because he's fanatically loyal to Trump.
"How many American troops have been killed in the Iran War?" Lieu continued.
"In these ongoing operations, 18," said Waltz.
"Okay. Now, President Trump has repeatedly stated that Iran's military was obliterated. On March 16th, President Trump stated that Iran's military was, quote, literally obliterated, end quote," said Lieu. "How is it possible that 482 American troops have been wounded and 18 service members killed by an Iranian military that's been purportedly obliterated?"
"The Iranian Navy, Air Force, air defense system, and industrial capacity have been massively damaged if not completely ineffective," said Waltz. "But this is a state that is trying to reconstitute."
Boasting about destroying the Iranian Navy and Air Force is a bit like boasting that you destroyed their catapults, horse-mounted cavalry, and triremes. Their ships were incredibly outdated, as were their obsolete Cold War era jets. Destroying them accomplished nothing. Their military force projection capabilities always rested in their drone and ballistic missile programs, which continue to devastate American bases in the region.
"This is a state, a regime that is obsessed with a nuclear weapon," lied Waltz. "And it's a regime that still maintains some missile and drone capability that it's firing on all of its neighbors, including our bases. I think that's a pretty common sense evaluation. But if I need to explain it to you further, I can."
"You need to explain to American people how an Iranian military that's been purportedly obliterated killed 18 U.S. service members and wounded 482 service members!" said Lieu.
"As you know, seven of those service members died in a plane crash—" claimed Waltz.
"Let me finish my question!" said Lieu. "And has struck multiple U.S. facilities in the Middle East repeatedly. So I'm going to show you a video from Jordan. And this is an Iranian strike..."
The congressman then played a video of a massive military explosion. For some suspicious reason, the audio was removed, likely because Republicans knew that the bombastic audio of the attack would make it even more terrifying — and thus drive home the fact that this war is a disaster for the United States.
"Thank you. I would hope the Republican-controlled Foreign Affairs Committee would know how to use audio next time," said Lieu. "But we did see the video and it showed multiple missiles hitting this base in Jordan. Let me tell you what happened. It was disclosed later that two U.S. troops died in that strike from a purportedly obliterated Iranian military."
"And this is what Donald Trump said..." Lieu went on. "He said that the Iranians, quote, did slip something through in Jordan. And if we had other operators, it would not have happened."
"He then went on to say, 'When you let other people do your job — with the United States, we let other people do a job — and sometimes it doesn't work out so well.' So let me ask you this question. Do we still have American troops stationed in Jordan right now?" asked Lieu.
"Doesn't surprise me that you're referring to Al Jazeera. In terms of your video..." said Waltz, desperate to change the subject and distract. "I'm here as the U.N. Ambassador, but I'm happy to refer you to Pete Hegseth, Secretary Hegseth's testimony yesterday. Of course, we still have troops in Jordan."
"In your opening statement, you bragged about doing a Security Council resolution on Iran!" thundered Lieu, his voice infused with appropriate anger. "So yes, Iran is in your job responsibility! Focus on it and focus on the troops that have been wounded and killed."
"Do not be so callous with the safety and lives of American troops!" he went on. "I'm going to ask you again, are U.S. troops currently stationed in Jordan?"
"Try to get reelected," Waltz shot back weakly.
"I will," Lieu said. "November is coming for you and this administration. Are U.S. troops stationed in Jordan? It's not even a trick question. Are they?"
"Of course they are," said Waltz.
"Okay, and if Donald Trump doesn't trust the Jordanians to protect U.S. troops? You trust them?" asked Lieu. "Who are we going to have protect U.S. troops? They are exposed right now in the Middle East. Repeatedly being exposed to Iranian missiles, missiles, strikes and drones."
"I didn't hear this from you when they died during the Biden administration!" whined Waltz.
The difference, of course, is that under President Biden the United States didn't start any new wars. In fact, Biden had the courage to finally end the Afghanistan War despite a steep political cost to his White House. He was concerned with America's national security and interests. Trump is concerned with doing Benjamin Netanyahu's bidding.
"You don't even know how many U.S. troops were wounded in this Iran War!" roared Lieu. "Shame on you for not even knowing basic facts. You are the U.S. Ambassador and you don't even know how many U.S. troops were wounded in the Iran war. You got that wrong! You should be shameful! You don't know basic facts. You should resign! You don't even care about the number of U.S. troops that were wounded! You did not know how many U.S. troops were wounded! You gave false information to Congress!"
"This is ridiculous!" complained Waltz, visibly upset.
"You should be ashamed of yourself for not even knowing how many U.S. troops were wounded in the Iranian war," the congressman concluded.
This is how EVERY member of Congress should sound when questioning these MAGA hatchet men. This Iran War has forever destroyed the myth that Republicans "support our troops." The Trump White House is treating our brave soldiers like disposable pawns to be sacrificed for no clear goals, all in the service of Israel's national interests and the profits of the military-industrial complex.
Ted Lieu is right. They should be ashamed.
Please ❤️ and share to thank Ted Lieu!
