[ sarah pulled the car up in front of the house. the moment she opened the door, a chill ran through her entire body, and her breathing grew heavier. she made her way toward the entrance with slow,
measured steps. after knocking, she noticed the door was already open and quietly stepped inside. the state of the house caught her off guard for a brief moment, but she quickly composed herself and continued
“ i know . . . ”
she whispered and closed her eyes briefly before opening them again. she squeezed her sister's hand and gave her a soft smile.
“ but i'll deal with it. don't worry, okay? ”

lorraine studied her for a moment longer, trying to sense anything. but she couldn't.
“ hm. then we're stopping on the way to get you something to eat, okay? and i'm only letting you come with us because i don't want you to be alone. ”
she pointed a finger at her.

she shakes her head, as if trying to forget it.
