This daughter of a BLET locomotive engineer knows the importance of Railroad Retirement. Thank you to Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth for supporting the Railroad Retirement Fairness Act.

That’s why I spoke on the House floor in support of @RepDeluzio and @RepTroyNehls’ bipartisan legislation to eliminate provisions that unfairly reduce retirement payments for certain railroad retirees and spouses. Our railworkers should not be penalized for choosing to – or sometimes needing to – work after retirement. Legislation like this is long overdue to level the playing field and ensure our railworkers keep the benefits they’ve earned to support themselves and their families.
