Look, those summonings are taught in a graduate seminar that is only offered once per century and the prereq is only offered every 25 years and the curriculum committee is not going to budge on this.
Gonna write a story about a linguist who summons demons to test their reconstructions of completely dead languages on.
"YOU HAVE SUMMONED ME, MORTAL, WHAT IS YOUR REQUEST?"
"Yeah, hey, I'm just wondering if you can speak or know someone down there who speaks Cypro-Minoan?"
I asked an 18yo #swiftie to recommend her two fav TS albums. She could only narrow it down to three, but one doesn’t have a “Taylor’s Version” yet, so I bought the other two. (my #genx ass prefers to own my music, not stream). How’s that for “paying a price”? 🤷♀️ #swifties4kamala
Trump reacts to Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala Harris: "Well, I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better ... I was not a Taylor Swift fan ... she'll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace."
@clhubes Like, bless everyone who didn’t come to me on the day-of with all their hurt feels, but this would have been avoided if they’d just ASKED US, with WORDS, in the first place! Kids were welcome! 🤣
@clhubes Our wedding was NOT kid free but a few folks thought it was (someone decided they weren’t bringing theirs & others heard & assumed it was our request & never asked us!) A couple people were annoyed when got there & there were kids. I found out about the BTS drama days later, LOL.
@maryforidaho @KelcieMMorris Organs cannot be harvested without the explicit pre-existing consent of the deceased or their next of kin. The bodies of the recently deceased have more rights than a pregnant person.
@tithenai I read it as an ebook from the library in 2021 and it had stuck in my head enough I was thinking of reading it again, so I’d just put it on my ‘buy a dead tree edition list when this happened. Never been so pleased to have to wait for a book to restock! ❤️
@LeviForOffice The one the PR guy at my little community theatre did. We were still COVID-dark at the time and he used a pic of the set that was still on the stage from when we shut down in March 15, 2020. The way I SCREECHED when he posted it…
@AkanaPhenix The last time I was at Guggenheim (Jan 2019), I was entranced by this quiet little corner with the classy-looking wooden phone booths. Phones long gone, of course, but they still had some old phone books. Wonder if they’ve repurposed the space yet…
@jamesACgray@itsahousingtrap Maybe let’s also toss in there:
3) lower costs to asking professors and students, whose labour can A) be written off as a “teaching exercise,” and B) is undervalued by everyone (including themselves, particularly the profs, who are also often professionals.)
