@filmophilebones@hemingquay@___mithrandir_ Exactly. Great example. Then they'll retcon it and say she was more stoic or some other crap. It even makes the line where Obi-Wan says "that boy is our only hope" and Yoda corrects him: "There is another." None of it makes sense. Obi-Wan just forgot about Leia?
Is like to thank you and a few others for personally stopping me from looking at overnight and weekend futures. I’ll check the market out when I get up in the morning and see what is happening or what has occurred. Unless a nuke goes off in after hours it’s not going to mean much.
To simplify this point easier: Don’t do remixes of classical works and act like it “adds” something to it. If Chris Brown remade Thriller and added verses I wouldn’t say this narrative about plugging my eyes or whatever. It’s not fucking Thriller. This is why the brand is dead. Not any of this other shit people bark on this site about DEI and other issues. Do your own work.
It’s movies dude. All of that other stuff reduces the impacts of the films. Luke was the only one to even begin to sway Vader from his path. Not Ashoka. Yoda stating that he was the last Jedi has to hit. Has to give it stakes. I’ve read fan fiction too. But the films are the most important. Imagine if in LOTR you found out that Sauron just rebuilt himself in 20 years and made all of those sacrifices worthless. Imagine doing filler with other descendants that had the same potential as Aragorn to reunite the kingdoms. I’m not trying to crap on people’s right to enjoy things. But the narrative is made weaker by all of these add ons. Are there weaker parts of the OT and PT? Sure. Shit…I like Maul. But him coming back to life detracts from the film. He’s done. He got cut in half. Qui Gonn died from being stabbed by Maul. Now, we have characters surviving mortal wounds and for what? Because it’s cool. If you want to do your own version of Star Wars….COOL. Go for it. Do it in your own setting and stop trying to use the originals to get people to tag along. Make your own shit. Let it stand on its own.
@Bx2Qu@Emmachuuks I’ve seen the sprint to the weight pile and the sheer amount of reps and rest people did. Dudes hitting weight piles and doing burpees and walking/jogging 4-10 miles a day easy in there. Maximizing meals for protein and no sodas…I’ve seen amazing results in there.
Has nothing…well mostly nothing to do with left leaning stories. Nothing to do with the medium. Tell good stories that grow the brand and cater to the audience of Star Wars. Respect the lore and move FAR past the OT. I didn’t even love most of the EU but converting those stories would have made more money than these films.
Order 66 no Jedi survived. Period. I’m not getting into Quinlon Vos and all that other shit. I’ve read them and they were cool cartoons and comics…but enough. They’ve done it before. There are the 6 films and since we have the Sequel trilogy…I guess you have to count them. Nothing else. Skip the timeline 50-200 years forward. The original trilogy is “ruined” from all this expanded stuff. Luke saving his father is minimized. Leia/Han had a kid and separated. The Republic fell in 2 freaking weeks before the First Order was back in power…it makes the heroes journey for those characters meaningless. Start it over. The fact that the Skywalker line is DEAD is just silly. Andor is pretty good and doesn’t detract from the OT. All of this other stuff does.
Ashoka and the Clone Wars are just like the EU for me. Cool stories but they are What If? stories to me. Having Ashoka makes no sense in the core lore of the movies. And yes…the movies are what counts. Going forward that’s what they have to do to try and salvage this whole thing.
@The25thNigga I see it as a good thing. People spend way too much time trying to hit the next home run when they have certified players that can perform for 2-4 years and you know what they can do in the league. This isn’t new. Bruce Allen…who McVay is plenty familiar with felt the same way.
@The25thNigga Sigh. If Aaron Donald comes out and is 75% of his old self...this is going to cause problems. They believe that they have their QB of the future. So they are saying FUCK THOSE DRAFT PICKS.
