Here's Silviana Wood, author of LA QUINTA SOLEDAD, with Marc Pinate from Borderlands Theater in Tucson. Thank you to Borderlands Theater and Los Descendientes for sponsorship of her book launch in Tucson, Arizona, on December 10th! @BLTHEATER
Every day for the last 5 years, I bike past this stop sign with a mesquite tree growing out of it. The city has tried 20+ times to remove it and every time they do it grows back bigger, stronger, faster. Watching the drama is a simple and inconsequential pleasure in a mad world.
Sweet jazz filled morning in Nogales talking about Charles Mingus and his continuing legacy 100 years after he was born here in a Buffalo Soldier camp. The real history of places like this is always so much more interesting than what they teach in schools.
I have to shout out the wonderful experience that was the Anita music workshop. We’re in the early stages & It’s so good to collaborate with dope musicians & actors. (Not everyone pictured!) @qviolin@OrkestaMendoza@BLTHEATER

In May of 2022, we’re bringing Barrio Stories: Nogales, a fiesta celebrating the bicultural experience of Ambos Nogales, to Downtown Nogales. This heritage festival connects folks to this town’s history though storytelling. See how people experienced fiestas in their border town!
Our elders recall how outside, they found whatever they needed to play together. What did you do for fun as a kid? These games passed down generationally. Ask to be taught and take opportunities to teach - these traditions only survive through us. https://t.co/njfXtE3JQA
Postponed for the past year, we are excited to bring you our production, “Barrio Stories: Nogales,“ coming May of 2022! An event to attend, this wonderful heritage festival celebrates Ambos Nogales, a single city split into two by an international border. https://t.co/Wu2uxvBhHN
