“...We hope it will spark a larger conversation about what it really means to protect children in our state and what role we all have to play in ensuring that no parent is pulled under by the crushing stress of unmet basic needs.”

B.L.U. is outraged. Kemari should still be with us today.
Last Saturday, a program manager with the Person County, NC child protective services called Briauna Morgan and delivered the most horrific news: Briauna’s 1-year-old son, Kemari, was found dead in his foster home.
THIS IS NOT OKAY. BLACK MOTHERS DESERVE BETTER.
"Briauna said she was notified Saturday that her baby Kemari Morgan died unexpectedly while under the care of a foster parent with #PersonCountySocialServices."
