Wow! Listen to this. If this fellow were not friends with the host, some of us would be asking why Trevor Noah is platforming someone so ignorant and clueless about South Africa basic history?

He says, "When you look young with extreme views, you are more palatable."

He was asked whether the President of the @EFFSouthAfrica @Julius_S_Malema is young, and his response was: "He was young. And now he doesn't look so young anymore."

But here is the kicker. He then says, "When you see the images of Nelson Mandela being defiant during the Rivonia Trial in April 1964, he was young. Chris Hani, when he returned from exile on 27 April 1990, was young."

This is the level of mediocrity we must contend with.

Mandela was born in 1918. During the Rivonia Trial in April 1964, he was 45 years old, turning 46 in July that year. Chris Hani, born in June 1942, returned to South Africa from exile in 1990 at the age of 47.

I guess he does not know how old the President of the EFF is.

This is what happens when you achieve so much at a young age. Your peers, literally the same age as you, may even think you are older than them and start calling you grootman!

And this is a platform that seeks to influence contemporary political discussion. It is a reflection of South Africa. The mediocrity is not only in government but also outside of it. People don’t want to read books anymore.
