Logging into Twitter to say that you should apply for the 2024 ECLA cohort!
ECLA showed me vulnerability in the workplace, new perspectives on how I can be my own kind of leader, and how empathy really is the future for our industry.
I even made lifelong friends. 🥰
The application for the Early Career Leadership Academy closes in TWO DAYS ⏰! ECLA brings together early-career individuals, in particular, women, people of color, LGBTQ+, & folks with disabilities, for an immersive leadership experience.

While the Early Career Conference might be over, there’s still a buzz around #AMS2024 about opportunities for early career professionals, like ECLA. So look no further! Here’s more information on #AMSECLA24. 💙🎉 @AMSEarlyCareer@ametsoc
I stand in solidarity with @GEO_UML graduate students organizing for fair wages and benefits. I'm encouraged by the recent progress in negotiations, and I'm urging @UMassLowell to finish the job. These workers keep the university running and deserve a better contract.
Honored doesn't even describe it. I've learned so much from my fellow cohort and picked up lifelong friends along the way. Can't wait to cross paths with you all again soon ☀️ #AMSECLA23
Day 2 started strong this morning, discussing race and it's impact on the meteorology community. As @ScienceByMaria told us early on, we can all step into our brave space!
#AMSECLA23
Challenging, brave & transformative conversations surrounding race. Racism is a conveyor belt - walking forward and standing still ultimately lead to the same outcome. We must be brave enough to TURN AROUND and walk against the tide of systemic racism. @AMSEarlyCareer#AMSECLA23
We’re here, it’s happening! #AMSECLA23 is officially underway. Can’t wait to welcome this new cohort of emerging leaders into the ECLA family. By the end of the week, ECLA will be over 100 strong. @ametsoc@AMSEarlyCareer
Angel Reese did the exact same gesture as this white women's player to the same player last night and guess what... People have been calling her ghetto. Black women aren't allowed then???
It is with utmost sorrow and heavy hearts to announce the passing of our President and Co-Founder of BlackinChem, Samantha “Sammy” Mensah. She was a phenomenal activist, leader, inventor, science communicator. and a doctoral candidate in chemistry at UCLA. (1/3)
