Wealden Line Campaign's BML2 is capable of solving many of the serious problems facing the most over-crowded rail routes between London, Sussex, Surrey & Kent.
Two pictures.
In an area crying out for better transport infrastructure, which option delivers regional sustainable environmentally friendly mass transport connectivity & multiple destination options for all?
Don’t be fooled by a greenwashed scheme that makes reinstatement harder
We believe justification for reinstatement already exists.
We do not call for new towns, villages, or linked development of any kind.
We believe there’s enough infrastructure demand from current households, not to mention the countless new homes already coming our way!
We are shocked that anyone wishing to improve the environment & protect our climate would endorse this particular idea which would hinder the reinstatement of a railway delivering clean mass transport, a reduction in road traffic, plus improving mobility.
It’s anything but green!

Wealden District Council have released their proposed Local Plan. If unchanged, it will bring huge population growth & add unprecedented pressure upon transport infrastructure.
Rail improvements including the Sussex & Kent phases of BML2 are essential to avoid chaos!
It’s an issue that won’t go away and unless BML2 is taken seriously, things simply will not get any better.
It is long overdue and the future of our region makes it ever more necessary.

When you compare Lewes-Uckfield & Eridge-Tunbridge Wells with Totton-Hythe, only a complete fool would believe that the latter has a better rationale than the former. But obviously, the latter has the advantage of not being in East Sussex… https://t.co/YZsu66C6nc

Friday Fact.
According to Google, the top end cost of building 1 mile of road in the U.K. is £82 million.
The maximum price of the equivalent length of railway, built to the highest possible specifications, is £20 million.
Let us leave you with that to consider and discuss…
Brian Hart has published his latest book. Explaining the history of the building of Uckfield’s railway & exposing the treacherous behaviour of authorities that have (and continue to) scupper progress towards its reinstatement.
A must read eye opener!

Good news for Portishead, but their good news makes a mockery of the political will shown for Lewes Uckfield, despite unprecedented housing proposals.
It’s as if the powers that be don’t want to prioritise green rail transport over road schemes.
But why??
