@tennisweeklypod And then there's the guys that want to give every past champion a wild card. Comes to the point where you get 80% of the main draw filled with 40 and 50 year-old has-beens.
Nobody has earned anything unless they have the ranking for direct entry.
@F1BigData So what were the actual top speeds compared to last year? I must say I don't really care, if they reach top speed early or late on the straight. It might feel odd, but it really doesn't make a difference.
@1gamesetmatch Gauff lost her last 3 matches on grass (against #17, #42, #49) and her last 3 wins are against Dolehide, Todoni and Kartal (#51, #142, #298). How on earth does her ELO rating survive that?
@the_zb_ Then I'm getting suspicious that they wanted to give Mercedes the opportunity to gain back what they're losing with the reduction to actual 16:1 compression.
@aManFromSweden I'm convinced there's hundreds if not thousands of videos of 7 year old's saying the same thing, but nobody digs them out, because why would anyone, if they don't reach #1?
@cytrusf1 Also ... bear in mind that everybody has straight mode at the same time, so it doesn't make racing any better, it just makes the cars run more efficiently. And they didn't need to in Monaco.
@cytrusf1 I can imagine because you can see what's happening here, and the kink at Monaco goes around a blind corner - meaning you might have to take evasive action quite rapidly with no downforce available - not a good idea.
@formularacers_ They haven't brought any performance updates so far on purpose, so it was to be expected that they will drop back further. I would expect the progress since the 1st race to be about 0.5-1s, so they would be mid-field even with the weak engine.
