The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission said in a report released today that civilians, including 18 people that sheltered in place when a shooting started, were extra-judicially killed by government forces on Jan. 20 in the town of Merawi, Amhara region.
The Commission added it was able to confirm the identity of at least 45 civilians who were killed because of suspicions over "supporting Fano."
It is to be recalled that I shared information a few days ago citing medical sources who said up to 157 people were killed on that day.
In a related development, a graphic video is circulating on social media that shows the Merawi killings.
The video can be corroborated using Google Map, as shown on the image below. It shows locations seen on the video.
Rest in peace!
His Eminence Abune Petros, General Secretary of the Holy Synod and Archbishop of the Diocese of New York and surrounding areas, told me a few minutes ago by phone that he's denied entry into Ethiopia and is returning back to the U.S.
"Actually, we knew that this was coming... there were false reports of my defection a month ago when I left for the U.S. But I want to say that this is a move to humiliate our Church. This should be clear to everyone."
He added several attempts to resolve the issue was not successful, and he's now on the same aircraft returning back.
#AmharaGenocide is here and now Earlier today, fascist Abiy has killed over 300 #Amhara civilians, including a 3-year-old baby girl, in a drone attack in a town called #Finoteselam . 3 churches were destroyed by the attack too.
