It will indeed be Jackson Flora today against Holy Cross in the Austin Regional elimination game. That’s the right the move. Can’t risk going home without your ace throwing a pitch.
Flora needs five strikeouts to set a new UCSB single-season record.
Since 1999, only 6 times has a top 4 national seed lost their regional opener.
It happened twice today. #4 Auburn (vs Milwaukee) and #1 UCLA (Saint Mary's). Incredible.
Was glad to see that RHP Ben Blair dealt against Boston College in Liberty's late comeback win in what could be his final collegiate start
7 IP, 2 ER, 7 H, 0 BB, 7 K
Extensive track record at Liberty. East-west approach. Fun release traits. #78 on my draft board
The 4 seed Little Rock Trojans. Oh my God
Down 1 headed into the 9th and put up a 4 spot capped off by this 2-run shot off the bat of Blake Simpson
Looking to avenge the 25' team that came up just short against LSU in Baton Rouge
Alex Hernandez took a backseat to the other big bats in GT's lineup during ACC play, but if a 3-HR game in the regional opener tells us anything, it's that he could be getting right at the hot time - which makes that lineup that much scarier 👀
Each regional ranked by competitiveness in my opinion:
1. Lincoln (13)
2. Lawrence (15)
3. Chapel Hill (5)
4. Hattiesburg (9)
5. Eugene (11)
6. Morgantown (16)
7. Starkville (14)
8. College Station (12)
9. Austin (6)
10. Auburn (4)
11. Tallahassee (10)
12. Athens (3)
13. Gainesville (8)
14. Tuscaloosa (7)
15. Los Angeles (1)
16. Atlanta (2)
Assume it came down to RPI between Miss St and Arkansas. Still liked Arkansas regardless, figured the head-to-head series win would be enough considering the resumes were fairly comparable
@Ange_Nation I didn't really struggle to leave MSU out as one of the first teams off. Was also conflicted about where to put FSU, but as lazy as it sounds I ended up just going off the #8 RPI
@omadawgs@CollegeBSBShow 13-17 Q1/Q2 doesn't cut it for me with MSU. Would have been the only sub-.500 Q1/Q2. I like the 20+ Big 12 wins for West Virginia and their series sweep over Kansas a few weeks ago
@BartFiggle67@CollegeBSBShow They would get my vote if I was on the committee. USM, UF, FSU, and Bama are all close enough to where I value the fact that USM won both their regular season conf. championship and conf. tournament. Unfortunately don't think the actual committee will share the same sentiment
