اب شاید یہی کسر باقی رہ گئی تھی۔ مین اسٹریم سیاسی جماعتوں نے بلوچستان کی سیاست کو مفاد پرستی، بدعنوانی اور اقتدار کی سوداگری کا میدان بنانے میں کوئی کسر نہیں چھوڑی۔ آج جس شخص کو صدر زرداری اپنی جماعت میں شامل کر رہے ہیں اسی پر ماضی میں زرداری کی زیرِ اثر سندھ پولیس نے سنگین نوعیت کے الزامات عائد کیے تھے۔

بہرحال ہر شخص کو اپنی سیاسی وابستگی اختیار کرنے کا حق حاصل ہے مگر جب انہی فیصلوں کے منفی نتائج سامنے آئیں تو ان کی سیاسی کوتاہیوں، مفاداتی سمجھوتوں اور اقتدار کی قیمت کا بوجھ عام بلوچ کے کندھوں پر نہ ڈالا جائے اور نہ ہی عام بلوچ سے جواب طلبی کی جائے۔۔۔

Why would Balochs not be angered by the inclusion of the person accused of running death squads against their people at the height of the insurgency in Balochistan?
There are whispers now that the notorious Shafiq Mengal seeks a political position in mainstream politics.
Today, #ShafiqMengal shook hands with President Zardari, tomorrow he will share the stage with @BBhuttoZardari, @AseefaBZ & other democratic leaders.
Whoever is behind it, this is a counterproductive move and an embarrassment for a party of the PPP’s stature to welcome him into its fold.

Shafiq-ur-Rehman Mengal is one of Balochistan’s most feared and well-documented death squad operators. After the Pakistani military’s February 2011 operation in Tootak village, where two Baloch youths were killed in front of villagers and 17 others forcibly disappeared, including an 80-year-old man, the state handed effective control of the area to Mengal, who used it as a base for abductions, torture, and extrajudicial killings.
He ran clandestine prisons in the surrounding mountains where, according to eyewitnesses, the screams of detainees could be heard at night. On January 25, 2014, a shepherd stumbled upon mass graves containing over 169 mutilated, decomposed bodies, many identified as previously disappeared Baloch persons, in and around his compound.
A judicial commission found that 37 witnesses gave testimony implicating him, though no arrest was ever made. That same year, he was accused of ordering the killing of eight Levies personnel in Wadh, and an FIR was registered against him under anti-terrorism laws, again with no consequence.
His militia, the Baloch Musallah Difaee Tanzeem (banned in 2010), was also linked to sectarian violence against Shia communities, with his name surfacing in investigations into the Shikarpur imambargah attack (2015) and the Shah Noorani shrine bombing.
A police SHO who tried to register a kidnapping case against him was murdered. Through all of this, Mengal has enjoyed uninterrupted state patronage, and is now being handed a PPP ticket.
