In Norma, tonight, the 12hr landlord notice rule passed 5-2, with only Preston (real capitalist bootlicker) and Lorenz (ditto, with a side of inane piece-of-crappery) voting against it.

“Biden” says a lot of things, when pressed; will be exciting to see how this plays out against thirty-eight states (39?) having blanket prohibitions on rent control.
fingers crossed that power struggle ever happens. 🤞

Yet another reason why landlords should be required to explain their rent increases. It should be a law that any increase is justified and the tenant should be allowed to refuse anything that isn’t.

Huge thanks to the ISU Student Gov’t for pushing it to completion, all the people who packed the room to speak their experience and support the ordinance, and to those on the council/the mayor who did the right thing. (3/end)
Why should you as a private renter care about public housing? Well because not only is it important for those who cant afford the private but it directly affects your rent, and the conditions of your home.

We don't post here often (we do on instagram) but we had a great meeting in Red Hook initiated by the militancy of tenants in Bed Stuy organizing their landlords portfolio. Talks of landlordism, failures of city and nonprofit programs and the need of protagonism abound!
This is why we need to find ways to push tenant struggles beyond the realm of policy! There is more than one way to achieve our goals. Politicians are beholden to other interests. Tenants need to take the power for themselves!
We always include one of these in our lit drops; tape it to your door, or get crafty and make a decorative personalized version for your threshold! Get your neighbors talking, and realizing that we all deserve better.
The BNTU stands in solidarity w/all efforts to further the dignified experience of tenants in our area, and fully backs in principle and practice a fully codified/aggressively enforceable 24hr notice before entry rule, regarding landlords and their agents
