In typical Michael Scott fashion, he briefly tries to feign more extreme sadness to deflect attention away from his car accident. However, the raw crack in his voice when he says the cat's name shows his true feelings breaking through.
The absurdity of the scene is that it happens immediately after Michael accidentally hits Meredith with his car. He brushes off the human injury but is brought to tears over the cat, highlighting his intense, sometimes misplaced compassion.
@cb_doge so if a person makes a movie about one man, and its a introspective one man solo movie, it can never win an academy award.. because its not all the things it needs to be to win?...
@ManehattanStonk@CinemaScene404 it could have been amazing had they brought back some of season 2 writers and directors instead of having David Lynch do it all.. he didn't even like season 2, which i think is some of the best episodes, in season 3 he robbed us all from something that could have been great.
