Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia, said that on the morning of July 25 Thailand illegally used cluster bombs to attack Cambodia, which is a violation of international law.

There is no justifiable reason for Cambodia to initiate war our history and actions speak for themselves. truth must be recognized: we stand for peace, and we deserve to be treated with fairness and respect.
CAMBODIA DID NOT OPENED FIRE

Today marks the third day since Thailand invaded Cambodia on July 24, 2025. Driven by power, the Thai military’s actions have caused suffering to many civilians. This is not about territory—it’s a violation of peace and humanity.
As someone living in Cambodia, yesterday’s border clash didn’t feel far away.
People died—Thai civilians, including children—after Cambodian rocket fire reportedly struck border villages. That’s tragic and unacceptable. But it didn’t happen in a vacuum. Thai forces reportedly provoked the shooting, on land already ruled by international courts to belong to Cambodia.
None of this should be normal!
Let’s not cheer from the sidelines like it’s some kind of boxing match. Thai and Cambodian voices alike are posting online like they’re rooting for a team—while real families are burying their dead!
Put the weapons down. Talk. Before more lives are lost for absolutely nothing.
Fighting continues along the border between Thailand and Cambodia this morning, July 24, at key conflict points: Ta Mone Thom Temple, Ta Krabey Temple, the Mom Bei area and near Preah Vihear Temple.

The Thai military used a wide range of weapons, including artillery shells and aerial bombardments, to strike Preah Vihear Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The assault caused damage to several key areas of the temple complex, including Poy Tadi, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th towers, the northern staircase, and surrounding zones.
This act constitutes a serious crime against world heritage and a blatant violation of international law.
Earlier, Thaksin Shinawatra delivered a statement with a warlike tone aimed at teaching a lesson to Hun Sen. Thaksin’s remarks further underscore Thailand’s military aggression toward Cambodia.
I am not surprised by Thaksin’s attitude toward me, because he has even betrayed the Thai King, as well as members of his own party. What is worse is that he was involved in the killing of hundreds of Thai Muslims in the southern provinces in 2004. Now, under the pretext of taking revenge on Hun Sen, he is resorting to war, the ultimate consequence of which will be the suffering of the people.
