The same autonomy that makes AI attackers powerful may also be their biggest weakness.
Our new Cyber Weapon Index shows how quickly autonomous offensive capability is advancing. The next question is what defenders can do about it.
In the latest edition of “Behind the Code,” we explore how Counter AI and Vellox Labs™ Guile can help defenders turn attacker automation into a liability.

AI has become the attacker. The new Booz Allen Cyber Weapon Index measures what 18 of the world’s most advanced American and Chinese AI models can actually do in a realistic cyber environment. One model autonomously completed the full cyber kill chain—from gaining initial access to taking control of a network.
Using the Cyber Weapon Index, the report examines how capable AI models are today, how quickly the broader model landscape may approach full cyber autonomy, and how the United States can use agentic AI to build and sustain offensive and defensive cyber overmatch.
Our findings reveal a rapidly closing window to strengthen U.S. and critical-infrastructure defenses before adversaries operationalize these capabilities at scale.

Exfiltrated your data. Analyzed it with AI. Priced your ransom.
That's the new playbook our investigators tracked this month. The Gentlemen, a cybercrime organization known for conducting data-theft and extortion operations, are pairing stolen data with AI to hand affiliates a ready-made case for how much to demand. Cyber defenses built for human attackers no longer hold up against autonomous, machine-speed threats.
Counter AI introduces a new layer of defense by controlling what AI-powered attackers see and trust—slowing their attack and buying time for defenders to respond.
Our webinar “The Pivot to Control” is now available. Tune in to learn how Counter AI helps cyber defenders take control of attacks and ultimately take back the advantage.

At the 2026 @SpaceMissileDef Symposium in Huntsville, retired Air Force Lt. Gen. and current @BoozAllen executive adviser Trey Obering and Booz Allen Senior Vice President Michael Davenport sat down with Threat Status to discuss missile defense today.
AI changed the speed of cyberattacks. Now we’re changing who holds the advantage.
The next era of cyber defense won’t be defined by faster detection alone. It will be defined by the ability to influence attacker decisions before they achieve their objectives.
Join Booz Allen for The Pivot to Control: Countering Machine-Speed Threats and learn how Counter AI helps defenders move beyond reacting to attacks to actively controlling the conditions attackers rely on.

This weekend, @IndyCar made history on the streets of Washington, D.C. The inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix brought high-speed racing, military flyovers, and thousands of spectators to the National Mall in celebration of America’s 250th.
Behind the scenes, Booz Allen tech—and our people—were supporting the mission to keep the event safe and secure.
Thousands of National Guard members, local police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel used Booz Allen Sit(x)® to maintain real-time situational awareness and coordinate emergency response across the event. The platform gave teams a shared view of what was happening, from the locations of personnel and vehicles to 911 calls and drone activity.
Our work didn’t stop at deployment. Booz Allen personnel were on the ground listening to feedback from Sit(x) users and making real-time updates to help it work even better for the mission at hand.
In recognition of their efforts, two Booz Allen team members were presented with Challenge Coins from the Executive Office of the President of the United States and the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force. Congratulations to our team, and thank you to the National Guard, law enforcement, and first responders who helped make this historic weekend possible.
