@KySportsRadio As it currently stands there is no value for owners/trainers to run right back. There is just as much $$$ waiting for other big races this summer at more prestigious and nicer venues. Move it back, add performance bonuses to attract horses to want to run in each leg.

Just imagine if the Breeders Cup was held at Churchill Downs every year. The quality of the racing, the handle and attendance would all skyrocket. Nobody handles big racing days like Churchill Downs and it’s easily accessible to 90 percent of the folks who participate.

@racing_dudes The Kentucky Derby is like the Super Bowl, Bonnaroo, Stagecoach, etc. it’s not about who’s playing. It’s just about attending the event. We need to improve the day to day product for those who help keep the lights on the other 51 weeks a year.
