@TheGameVerse I would have kept Joel alive but have Joel and Ellie separated, you play as Ellie trying to save Joel only for Ellie to make it and die from Abby then the second half of the game would be Joel tracking Abby down for revenge similar to how Ellie did it. Game ends with Joel Alone.
