Was caseless #ammo of its time? Developed for the Voere VEC-91 bolt-action, electroni-ignition #rifle propellant is ignited by an electric current from batteries stored in the rifle’s grip. The gunpowder is attached to the bullet and is entirely consumed, so no ejection or extraction. It was manufactured in .223 Rem and 5.7 UCC. Ammunition is now scarce and collectible, but the Voere VEC-91 was the first commercially produced caseless electronic sporting rifle imported by the U.S. in 1991.
