Visited Bharat Bhawan, the global headquarter of India’s Maharatna PSU @BPCLimited in Mumbai today.

When I joined petroleum Ministry in July 2021, BPCL was on the block for disinvestment, & look at how the company has now emerged as one India’s key energy sector players confidently contributing throughput of 109% of capacity to energise Indian economy as it races at 7.6% growth under leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji’s towards energy sufficiency, green transition & #ViksitBharat

With a focus on sustainable solutions, the company has developed a vibrant ecosystem & a road-map to achieve its #NetZero target by 2040, in Scope 1 & Scope 2 emissions.

BPCL’s Refineries at Mumbai, Kochi & Bina Refinery have a combined refining capacity of around 35.3 MMTPA, while the marketing infrastructure includes a network of installations, depots, energy stations, aviation service stations and LPG distributors.

The company has 21,000 Energy Stations, over 6,200 LPG distributorships, 525 Lubes distributorships, 123 POL storage locations, 53 LPG Bottling Plants, 70 Aviation Service Stations, 4 Lube blending plants & 4 cross-country pipelines.

In 2006 we fondly hoped to achieve 5% biofuel blending but reached 1.4% by 2014. Last month we reached 10% biofuel blending- Saved ₹30,000 cr in foreign exchange last year. With past focus on imports, E&P faced criminal neglect. We are now focusing on it with revolutionary zeal.
