🎥 Early Learning at Washburn wrapped up its first school year by taking a trip back in time. Staff cracked open a time capsule that was buried at the former Southwood Center in 2017. Southwood’s former chief custodian Jessie Hanson came out of retirement to open the capsule!

Teachers as learners. This week many of our educators learned, collaborated and explored new ideas and practices at the Twin Cities Educator Collaborative (TCEC). BPS hosts the three-day professional learning conference every summer to support our high quality team of educators.

Congratulations to the six students who received diplomas at the Project SEARCH Completion Ceremony this month. This Bloomington Transition Center special education program helps young people learn employment skills by working as interns at the Embassy Suites Airport.

We’re kicking off graduation week by congratulating the young adults who completed Bloomington Transition Center programs. Last week 28 students received their diplomas at the BTC completion ceremony. BTC provides special education services for students aged 18-22.
