Next spring, the @nyjets will be sitting on $150M in cap space + 3 more first-round picks.
For the first time in a long time, they’re not going to need a savior at QB.
@PaulHembo
@nyjets@KStateFB We needed S depth, so this is a smart move. Overall, I’m really pleased at this Jets draft and we have 3 first round picks next year! Whoever our franchise QB will be, will have a solid young OL and some playmakers on offense!
@YahooSports As a Jets fan, I like it! We definitely needed help on offense and this is smart by the Jets, because whoever the franchise QB they get next year will has Garrett Wilson, Sadiq, Cooper, and a young solid OL. I like this idea!
@DavidCrest1572@nyjets@KenyonSadiq Yeah it’s frustrating but being a Jets fan that’s gonna happen. We’ll see how Sadiq pans out, but if somehow Omar Cooper falls to us at 33 then Jets should grab him.
@NYJetsTFMedia I really like this move!! We need a DT and if we switch to 3-4 defense then he would be a great NT. This move pretty much means we’re drafting David Bailey imo.
@BoyGreen25 I’d be on board with drafting him bro, because once we solidify the OL then whoever our franchise QB is, will have a much better OL compared to when we drafted Darnold and Wilson. Simpson may not come back and if we resign AVT I don’t trust him to be healthy a full season 🤷♂️
@NYJetsTFMedia@MoveTheSticks Plus John Simpson is a FA and if we decide to keep AVT, can we really trust him being healthy a full season given his track record? I’d say no we can’t rely on him.
@NYJetsTFMedia@MoveTheSticks Tbh, if Lemon is off the board as well as Styles then I’m not opposed to getting Loane who would be a great addition to solidifying our OL. Can you imagine if we got him and signed Linderbaum in FA? Our franchise QB in 2027 will have an amazing OL to work with.
@NYJetsTFMedia I’m iffy on him because he’s not very strong against the run as we could benefit from a 3 down pass rusher.
I wouldn’t mind drafting Bain tbh and if we did somehow draft Bailey hopefully it’s something we could trade down and achieve more draft capital.
@JetsRoundtable Personally, I don’t think Breece wants to come back and I can’t say I blame him with all the losing. I would like for him to be back at the right price, but I think some of the teams he’s likely to sign with (assuming we don’t tag him) I think KC and even Seattle if Walker goes
