@OccupyMyGov As a support worker, stories like this infuriate me. The so-called "civilised world" only purports to be civilised, but it's long been hijacked by opportunists whose entire code of conduct is "as long as I don't go to jail, this is okay."

They look for reasons *not* to help.

So they go around largely protecting themselves from this at the expense of whatever isn't themselves or way of going about things.

@AlanBixter My wife and I are very lucky in each other. We both come from abusive backgrounds (parents and partners past) and took a big risk with each other. She now regards me highly and we scrutinise other men quite harshly.

Men could be a lot better, but they're so practiced at 1/2

@hankgreen And this is her sister Ruby-Jean. Also talkative, but without the spit bubble. Likes being carried in an upright seated position in my hand (super cute). Also loves being carried around on a light table chair for flying rides. Loves it. More than treats.

@hankgreen Nighteyes. The most talkative cat I've ever been family with. She's a psychopath in how she'll launch herself at toys, but she's super cuddly and affectionate.

She sounds like she has a spit bubble in her mouth when she meows. Nicknames are Scribbles, Gurgles, and Camera Face.
