Most actual newsgathering comes from the big 3 newspapers (NYT, WSJ, WaPo). There is a ton of bias there, too, but they are where most original reporting comes from. Broadcast outlets would do good to cut out some of the same old boomers we have seen for years and move on.

Bari Weiss is obviously a plant, but does Scott Pelly really think that his employer needs to explain their staffing decisions to him? Or that they have to put up with his theatrics in meetings? And, can we be real about what broadcast journalism is in 2026?

In that sense, Bari Weiss is perfect for the job. She is a propagandist after all. But we should stop pretending that CBS news and 60 minutes are hallowed institutions or that Scott Pelly is some paragon of journalistic integrity.
