The Governor informed Secretary Usher. If the situation was this serious, he should’ve spoken to me directly as he did a few weeks back regarding shutting down Texan schools. I don’t blame the governor entirely, there must’ve been an issue with communication.

When I traveled to Texas to visit our border, former Secretary Usher informed me that our border was over 50% complete, stopping a majority of migrants, and functional. If you saw issues with our border that the Federal Government was not aware of, we could’ve deployed resources.

Like I told the Governor, the Department of Homeland Security reported it as functional. The Governor didn’t directly inform me that our southern border required the attention of the Federal Government. Congress also does not solely rely on the President. @realHenryson

I was told two different things, either my border was functional, or it was not. Members of your own party reported it functional. If you yourself saw a problem, why didn’t you take action? Why didn’t you propose more legislation to combat it? Don’t tell me about being observant.

Members of Congress, and my former Secretary of Homeland Security reported my border was FUNCTIONAL. We’re in Washington, you’re in Texas. You got to see firsthand how our border is doing, if you saw a problem, should’ve reported it to the federal government. @NickRiveraTX

Do not blame me for the Governors inability to ask for help. If Congress truly believed our border required help, it’s up to THEM to provide funding.

The Governor of Texas has NEVER requested aid or support on our Southern Border.

The Department of Homeland Security, The Speaker of the House, have all reported our Border is functional, yet many of your Republican colleagues contradict me and claim it’s not working.

Today’s tragic mass shooting in DC is a reminder of the urgent need for common sense gun safety measures. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. We must come together as a nation to prevent senseless violence and protect our communities. #EndGunViolence

Since I’ve signed the Illegal Immigration Prevention Act, it has secured our border and made our communities safer. We have built a wall on our Southern Border to prevent drugs, and other dangers flooding our communities. The wall is 50% complete, with progress being made daily.
