📣 Today we are announcing £105 million to ensure that rough sleepers and vulnerable people in emergency accommodation do not return to the streets 📣

🔹This will help support people to secure tenancies or short-term accommodation before moving into a long-term home (1/4)

📢 📢£6m for frontline homelessness charities📢 📢

Over 130 homelessness charities will benefit from £6m of funding to help them provide services, including specialist physical and mental health support during coronavirus, following a successful bidding process.

🔹This will create over 1,500 essential bed spaces for survivors, giving over 100 charities the vital lifeline to help people across England to escape abuse and rebuild their lives in safety, away from the threat of violence (1/2)

📢 In London, over 4,400 rough sleepers, and people in danger of sleeping rough have been moved into safe accommodation during this pandemic📢

We know that 41% of rough sleepers in London are assessed as having a drug misuse need and 42% as having an alcohol misuse need (1/2)

🔹With almost 15,000 rough sleepers in safe accommodation it is our moral mission to ensure that as few people as possible return to the streets

🔹Providing 6,000 homes is a big step towards achieving this, helping people to turn their lives around and to #endroughsleeping 🏠

Really great today to be out volunteering with my office to help @southernbrooks and @sgloscouncil deliver essential food boxes and prescriptions to local people shielding. The teams there are doing a fantastic job to ensure that those shielding have everything they need 📦 💊
