Had some amazing things happen last week that we got to celebrate. Starting with 4 seniors at our spring signing day ceremony. From left to right Clint Cumberford, Lincoln Herring, and Jayden McCray. Not pictured is Luke Crandall
Students at John Nowlin Elementary in Ms. Mooneyham's fifth grade class had the pleasure of meeting Kansas City Chiefs two-time world champion center Creed Humphrey.
Humphrey and his girlfriend Ana were greeted with a school-wide parade as the Knights chanted "Let's go Chiefs" and offered high-fives.
The fifth graders were ready with questions for Humphrey and Ana about the Chiefs, football, and their interests. Humphrey told the students about his teacher, Mrs. Hobbs, who recognized his advanced math ability and had him bussed from the middle school to the high school daily to take math classes. He noted that she taught him not to live in the status quo but rather continue to challenge yourself to improve.
Humphrey attended college at the University of Oklahoma where he started 39 games and allowed zero sacks over three seasons, among many other honors and awards. He also graduated from OU with a degree in Finance and was selected as a second-round draft pick by the Chiefs in 2021.
Thanks to Creed Humphrey for taking the time to visit JNE, and good luck to the Chiefs this upcoming season! 🎉❤️💛
