DEVELOPING: The family of 28-year-old Gracious Nkomo has positively identified her as one of the women whose body was discovered along the R21 in Kempton Park.

Nkomo was the third woman whose body was discovered in the Kempton Park area on 10 September 2026. She was found partially clothed.

She was identified today by her family at the Germiston Mortuary.

The South African Police Service (#SAPS) in New Brighton is appealing to the public for assistance in locating 20-year-old Likhanye Mjoli, who was reported missing.

Mjoli was last seen on 1 September 2026, when she left her home in Nconco Street, New Brighton. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a cream T-shirt with the number 23 written in navy blue on the back, light-grey tracksuit pants and beige campus tekkies with green stripes. She was also wearing spectacles.

A #MissingPerson enquiry was opened at the New Brighton Community Service Centre (CSC) on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.

Anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of Likhanye Mjoli, or who may assist the police in locating her, is urged to contact the New Brighton Police Station Charge Office on 082 457 2745, #CrimeStop on 08600 10111, or provide information via the #MySAPSApp. Information may be provided anonymously and will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.

💔🕊️ REST IN PEACE: Itumeleng Kekana, 32, has been identified as the second woman found dead in the Kempton Park area.

The QwaQwa native, who was living in Gauteng, was reported missing in Kempton Park on 17 July 2026. Her body was discovered on 3 August near Great North Road in Pomona, with multiple stab wounds.

Her family travelled from QwaQwa to assist with the search before later identifying her body.

Police said no arrests had been made at the time, while the motive remained unknown. Investigations into whether the killings are connected are ongoing.

KAGISHO POLICE SEEK PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING A MISSING PERSON

SAPS Kagisho Detectives in the Northern Cape are requesting the assistance of the public to locate 43-year-old Itshenkeng Georginah Morokonyane who was reported #missing by her mother on Wednesday, 02 September 2026.

Reportedly, in July 2025, Georginah left home with her friend known as "Maureen" indicating that they were going to a casino in Bloemfontein.

She never returned home and in February 2026, Georginah contacted her mother, and indicated that she would return home in March 2026.

During their conversation in February 2026, Georginah informed her mother that she doesn't have a cellphone, and borrowed a phone from a security guard at OR Tambo International Airport.

Thereafter, no further contact has been made.

Anyone with information that can assist the police with their investigation in locating Georginah Morokonyane and reuniting her with her family can contact the investigating officer Detective Sergeant Dineo Motseothata from Kagisho Detectives on 082 469 0236 or report at a nearest police station or contact #CrimeStop number on 08600 10111 or use the #MySAPSApp.

All information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.

The public is reminded that there is no waiting period to report a person as missing.
