This year we had over 18 performances, 7 different productions, and 4 educational programs. Sharing art and life is fuel, and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to connect this way with you.
Happy New Year from Barkin/Selissen Project! We hope you're somewhere safe and cozy, resting from 2022. As we all celebrated last night, we held a toast to each of you that have been a part of our mission this last year. YOU helped us come back strong!
While you're sharing joy with those you care about this season, letβs take time to reflect + appreciate how far weβve all come. Wherever you are, whatever your situation may be, we are grateful for you and we celebrate that we all made it here together!

βοΈ It's quickly getting more frigid out! Today, we're thinking about the warm and wonderful people we've worked with over the year. Cozy and surrounded by paper and pencils, weβre now working on what comes next. Keep an eye out for a year-end recap soon!
2023 is around the bend and we are looking forward to sharing more news with you! In the meantime, you can still support our ongoing efforts. Donate today + sign up to our newsletter to stay up-to-date and help us grow. π·: Julie Lemberger

π¦ On this week of Thanksgiving, we want to send a note of appreciation to each of you. We are so grateful to our audience and supporters for championing our work. You light up our world!
As easy as it may be to get tangled up in holiday and end of year plans, don't forget to breathe and appreciate how far you've come in 2022!

π As it gets colder, one way to stay warm is via physical activity! Raise that body temp and heart rate by rehearsing a dance, taking a jog, or doing some yoga today.
π»π Happy Halloween from us at Barkin/Selissen Project! Here's a fun little pic from the production of "The Sun Never Came Out Today... and Other Melancholy Statements" - hope to see you out there having fun with creative costuming and trick or treating!
Just like in daily life, moods and experiences in dances vary. As we reflect on the impact we all have on one another, and our surroundings, we ask; how can we each use the unique light we bring to positively affect those we encounter?

There's a fire within each of us to go out and create something greater than the sum of the parts. Today we want to send a note of appreciation to all of our dancers and collaborators for stoking that creative fire.

As dancemakers, we're always looking for that spark of inspiration - whether from nature, art, music, mathematics, science, or a simple conversation with a friend. Go out and get inspired today.

Originally created and performed by Ms. Brenner, Janis gave the solo to Kyla in 2016. These performances mark a return to the work since then.
See it at @artsonsite this weekend, 9/29 - 10/1. Purchase tickets: https://t.co/GBFkR5xdFq
Janis Brenner's 'Why' is the last in a trio of connected solos, both virtuosic and introspective, that in subtle ways explore questions of place, relevance and reasons for continuing on the artistic path.
