Mississippi State falls in game two to Georgia, as the Bulldogs season comes to a close.
State battled all game long, after trailing in the 5th, 7-2. The long ball powered MSU to a 9-8 lead heading into the 9th inning. State got clutch swings from Ace Reese, Noah Sullivan and two clutch big flies from Jacob Parker, but Georgia was able to tie it in the 9th and take the lead in the 10th. MSU had two runners on with two outs, but stranded them after a strikeout to end the game.
The Bulldogs finish the year with an overall record of 43-19. Mississippi State will go to work in the offseason and look for more success in year two under Brian O’Connor.

A wild game in Athens in a loss for Mississippi State.
Both offenses went wild in this one, with both teams combining for 11 home runs. It was Georgia who sent the last one out of the yard, which was enough to beat MSU. Michael O’Shaugnessy’s three-run HR in the 8th was the final kill-shot in the game. State had a chance in the 9th, but left runners stranded at 1st and 2nd.
State will play with their season on the line tomorrow as Georgia has taken a 1-0 lead in the Super Regional series. MSU will have to win two games in a row over UGA to get to Omaha.

The Bulldogs are feeling super! Mississippi State defeats Louisiana to win the Starkville Regional and move onto supers.
It was an offensive explosion tonight from MSU, as the Dawgs scored their second-most runs in an NCAA Tournament game. State saw a solid start from Ryan McPherson, who the maroon and white are counting on in starting efforts this postseason, along with Valincius and Stone.
With the win, the Bulldogs advance to Super Regionals for the first time since 2021, the year that MSU won its first national championship. Mississippi State will travel to Athens next weekend to take on the Bulldogs of Georgia in a three-game set to decide who goes to Omaha.

Mississippi State defeats Cincinnati to move on to the regional final!
Tomas Valincius was dealing tonight for the Bulldogs, striking out 10 Bearcat batters in 7.1 innings, notching his 11th win of the year. Reed Stallman was hot at the plate tonight, tallying three RBIs along with three hits. Gehrig Frei and Bryce Chance also had multi-hit nights, with Frei and Kevin Milewski also adding multiple RBIs as well.
The Bulldogs will await the winner of tomorrow’s elimination game between Louisiana and Cincinnati. State only needs one victory to win the regional, while their opponent will have to win two. MSU will play tomorrow night at 7 p.m. CT.

Mississippi State falls to Texas 4-0 and is eliminated from the WCWS.
A milestone season is over for the Lady Dawgs. There were many firsts this season for this MSU ball club, including its first super regional win and WCWS appearance. State finishes the year with a record of 43-21, as they look to carry their historic finish and success into next year.

Mississippi State takes game one over Lipscomb in the Starkville Regional!
Bulldog pitching was dominant today as the starter Duke Stone tallied 10 strikeouts and grabbed his seventh win of the year. Jacob Parker, Vytas Valincius, Reed Stallman and Kevin Milewski all recorded multi-RBI games, with Gehrig Frei adding the other RBI with a solo HR.
State will await the winner of Cincinnati and Louisiana who are set to square off at 6 p.m. CT tonight. First pitch for the Diamond Dawgs tomorrow is set for 8 p.m. CT as MSU sits in the winner’s bracket.

Texas Tech adds four runs in the fifth to run rule Mississippi State in game one of the WCWS, 8-0.
The Bulldogs will await the loser of the Texas and Tennessee game coming up next. MSU will play in an elimination game tomorrow night at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
