We celebrated the final event of the BST Festival of the Arts this week, a 'Publication Celebration Tea Party' for twelve @BST_Secondary students, their parents &tutors, who, through a series of workshops @melibelletokyo have recently been published @utmmagazine@BST_Tokyo
Professor Andrew Fitzsimons visited BST to lead a thought-provoking workshop on writing in translation to our students. Our adult community also had the opportunity to attend a fascinating talk on his most recent book Basho: The Complete Haiku of Matsuo Basho @BST_Tokyo@BST_PTA
@Literacy_Trust announced children's writing enjoyment hit the lowest level ever recorded. This is why @UKLaureate Joseph Coelho's fantastic work with young people is so vital! All students @BST_Primary and Yrs7&8 took part in superb poetry workshops as part of #BSTFestoftheArts

Lunchtime Concerts resumed at BST Showa campus. The Brass Band performed 'I Can't Take My Eyes Off You', followed by Madeline on cello performing Mendelssohn' s 'A Song Without Words'. Then Oskar singing 'Somewhere Only We Know', with Thom on drums & Neve on bass.

Today we enjoyed a riveting discussion of The Handmaid's Tale @MargaretAtwood by our Senior students' Banned Book Club. A work of speculative fiction published in 1985, it draws on real life social & political events and 'has never been more relevant'. @BST_Secondary@BST_Tokyo
