New stock for the Boys’Division Lower School Library. Football titles have been very popular recently so the boys have been pleased to see this new series.
The student-led graphic novel & manga & anime club is continuing this term with a mix of watching studio Ghibli films following in on from shadowing the #excelsiorawards @ExcelsiorAward as there was so much enthusiasm. 1st up Howl’s moving castle #boltoncreativity
Year 2 Beech House and year 3 Park Road and Hesketh House pupils enjoyed a visit from author, illustrator and former Children’s Laureate Lauren Child today. Lauren was talking about and reading from her latest Clarice Bean book “Smile”
Happy World Book Day! It’s been a busy day with book giveaways, prizes and in the Library a Scavenger hunt and “Booked” potato competition. Congratulations to Antonio and Max for their prizewinning entries 👏
#boltoncuriosity#boltonreading we had the 1st meeting of our boys’ @ExcelsiorAward group. There were some really keen readers catching up on the latest graphic novels & manga. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for years after studying GNs as part of my English degree!
One of our regular library users told me today he has an offer from Cambridge this morning! He wanted to say thank you for letting him borrow 16 books before his interview.
Following on from our author session with Lily Bailey, todays Book Club was about how differences or flaws make us special or can be a strength. We talked about characters in books and wrote about our favourites. Detectives Daisy and May @redbreastedbird featured strongly
Ooh, as of today the most popular book according to our library management is #whilethestormrages@philearle ! It’s knocked our 2023 #bcfa23 Book Award winner, Dread Wood off its very loft post. Although, having said that, there’s still many y7/8 reading @JenniferKillick 👍😁
Girl’s div think that Iron Man rather than Buddy the elf would win in a fight ( 8 vs 6). The library team like Tony Stark too. ;) #ironmanforever The boys are tackling the #strangerthings message from Santa to Jamal the elf… #fun
The boys are obviously full of Christmas cheer! They have been voting on who would win in a fight, ‘Jamal’ the elf or the Black Widow. They’ve also decided upon their favourite movie, ‘Home Alone.’
The girls’ library elf Buddy was freed from ‘I’m a celebrity elf’ by the magic of Santa and is instead playing Christmas scrabble with word searches, crosswords and puzzles for the students to play.
