@GunGnome@neczur@interesting_aIl Oh, gotcha. Yeah, it’s a mammal. Here’s an interesting tidbit. We can emu and ostrich which looks and tastes just like beef. We can eat it because it’s a bird. And so thankful. A med rare ostrich filet is the bomb.
@ImTrumpsLover@LakeBoss Alpha gal syndrome is not a virus. People with AGS cannot take the COVID vaccine because it has mammal in it, as do most vaccines. I know plenty of people that have had multiple covid vax and boosters that did not contract AGS. It is caused by 6 diff tick species and chiggers.
@armoanon@idcbroaboutU Alpha gal syndrome was first named in Australia as MMA- mammalian meat allergy in 2007.The US followed a year later naming it AGS- alpha gal syndrome. This is a worldwide issue, not just US. There are 6 tick species that cause it in the US and different tick species outide the US
@GunGnome@neczur@interesting_aIl It makes you allergic to all mammalian meat and anything with mammalian byproducts. What white meat are you talking about.
@HurricaneSuper@LakeBoss There is not a cure for AGS. There are treatments that have put some people into remission. It comes back for a lot of patients. And for other patients, the treatment makes their reactions worse.
@HurricaneSuper@LakeBoss I have had alpha gal syndrome aka AGS for several years. Yes, I got it from a tick bite. I hike a lot and get bit by ticks constantly. AGS is not new. First symptoms recorded in 1989. Discovered in Austrailia in 2007 and the US in 2008. It is now a worldwide issue.
@Mightymom3007@DC_Draino Bill Gates did not create the ticks that cause alpha gal syndrome. The first reported cases were in 1989. Also, alpha gal is not caused by a germ. It’s the alpha galactose 1,3 sugar molecule being transferred through the ticks saliva. The main host is white tail deer.
@Zeppo81190327@XtexasgirlX Acupuncture is not a cure. It can put some people into remission. For most, it comes back with a vengeance. Others become far worse after the treatment. I know people who have had alpha gal for over 40 years.
@DadabhoyOmar I still eat chicken, turkey, duck, dove, emu, ostrich and all seafood. Only a small % cannot have dairy. Emu and ostrich taste just like beef and their filets can be cooked med rare. Basically all my recipes are substituted with some other form of meat. I don’t eat any fake meat
@StevenConlon9@MaryBowdenMD This is a worldwide issue not and just an “American issue.” It was first named/discovered in Australia a year before the US. They named it MMA - Mammalian Meat Allergy. Here is a map of areas with AGS.
@nivholls AGS is not just an allergy to red meat. It’s everything made with mammalian byproducts. 70% of OTC/Rx/life saving meds have mammal in them, so does anesthesia and other surgical items. Navigating surges or dental work is a nightmare. Also, mammal is in tons of hygiene products.
@nivholls The first symptoms were in 1989 in GA. AGS is worldwide, discovered/named 1st in Australian just before US. There are many tick species that carry AGS worldwide. Also, lab grown meat is derived from bovine cells therefore people with AGS is allergic to it.
@LyfSeeker@ValerieAnne1970 Not true. It can put some people into remission. For most, it comes back. For others, the treatment makes their reactions worse.
