@w_s_bitcoin Appreciate you filling me in. I think you’ve changed my mind on what I think will likely occur . . . Would still be nice if BIP 110 happened tho
@w_s_bitcoin But if any of the major mining pools happened to decide that they wanted to rug the others by switching to BIP 110 and getting a longer chain, and get more blocks with more of the mining reward . . . Do you think there might be the incentive there?
So I hear two sides, one that says it will cause an actual chain split (yours, I think), and the other that say it won’t because if enough nodes reject blocks that aren’t BIP 110 compatible, miners that don’t comply risk having a shorter chain than another that does comply, and the one with the longer chain ends ep de facto enforcing BIP 110. Forgive me also if there’s any misunderstanding. I’ve been spending a little bit of time away from this whole debate and technical stuff.
Exactly what the financial-industrial complex is doing with Bitcoin right now.
They want to custody your Bitcoin while encouraging you to lever up and borrow against it, so they can margin-call you when they scoop it up on the cheap.
They want BlackRock, Strategy, Coinbase, or a Cantor-connected Bitcoin treasury company to hold your Bitcoin.
They want your Bitcoin wrapped in Michael Saylor, Brandon Lutnick, Adam Back, David Bailey, Jack Mallers, Steve Witkoff, Eric Trump, or Donald Trump Jr. instead of held in your own self-custody.
Understand the difference between owning Bitcoin and owning a financial product built around Bitcoin.
One moves you closer to sovereignty.
The other moves Bitcoin closer to the financial-industrial complex.
Your choice.
The easiest way to lose conviction:
Watch the price and engage with unverified FUDDERS.
The easiest way to gain conviction:
Study the asset.
Nothing about Bitcoin has changed from 16k, to 126k, back to 61k.
Scarce, borderless, sovereignty at a global scale.
@BitcoinTeacher_ I’ll happily buy BTC at 0. I don’t care anymore. I will die on this hill. Fuck fiat. I expect money and financial transactions in the future to remain digital, and the best incarnation of that with the most adoption is the one and only Bitcoin Network.
