[Transl] The global stars, BTS, will be returning as a full group this March. They are planning a massive performance at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul to mark their comeback. The Seoul Metropolitan Government has recently decided to grant conditional permission for the use of the square for this event.
BTS, the group that has rewritten the history of K-pop, will signal their return as a full group for the first time in three years and nine months with a showcase at Gwanghwamun Square.
​According to officials, the Seoul Metropolitan Government reviewed the application for the use of the square and granted approval, provided that strict safety and traffic management protocols are met.
​The event, tentatively titled 'K-Heritage x K-Pop Fusion,' was designed following BTS' specific request to perform at symbolic Korean landmarks.
The performance will feature:
​A Grand Entrance: The members are planned to walk from Gyeongbokgung Palace toward the main stage at Gwanghwamun.
​Media Facade: Large-scale digital art will be projected onto the walls of the Gwanghwamun Gate.
​Global Broadcast: The show is expected to be livestreamed to over 190 countries, reaching an estimated 300 million viewers.
On March 20, 2026, BTS will release their 5th studio album, ARIRANG, which includes 14 tracks. The choice of 'Arirang'—a folk song that symbolizes the Korean soul—as the album title has already sparked immense interest from international media. Forbes and other major outlets are praising the move as a 'homecoming' and a deliberate effort to share Korean roots with the global audience.
​Following the album release and the Gwanghwamun showcase, BTS will embark on a massive world tour starting in April, featuring 79 performances across 34 cities.
The city of Seoul plans to cooperate with the police and local offices to manage the expected crowds and prevent issues like 'rip-off' prices at nearby accommodations.
