The PWHL said this approach gave a lot more choice to the players.

The key to those FPO’s is that they leave the choice up to the player.

If Knight and Bilka want to continue playing in Seattle and GM Meg Turner wants them as part of her plan, they can choose to do so.

ANNA WILGREN STAYS!

The #SeattleTorrent have used one of their Expansion Protections on D Anna Wilgren!

Wilgren played in all 30 games this season, with 3G/7A. She also had a highlight reel shootout goal on her resumé!

MURPHY STAYS BETWEEN THE PIPES!

The #SeattleTorrent have decided to protect G Hannah Murphy from #PWHL Expansion.

The 2025 second-round pick quickly became a fan-favorite in Seattle.

Murphy played in 12 games for the Torrent, with a 2.87 GAA and 0.908 Sv%.

It looks like more than a few PWHL teams are hedging the bet that there are only four EFO’s league wide, and some don’t think it will be their exposed star signed to it.
