@therealcliffyb Definitely wouldn't tell anyone it's a bad movie. It's obvious that Trachtenberg and his team love and understand Predator. Just felt less like a Predator movie and more like a GotG movie.

@dontfearai @DiscussingFilm If you were plugged into the conversations of his 4k releases, you'd know they're mired in controversy. At best, they rob detail from the native scan. At worst, they produce waxy or nightmare fuel faces.

Remasters can be done right. His are lazy, and so is AI's usage here.

Well, my team is safe, but we lost a lot of people today on other teams. I'll probably wait for the news outlets to come out with all the information.

I think most people won't fully understand the impact these layoffs have on the mental health of developers, but to try to put it into perspective based on my own experience:

Most of us often spend years and years applying to these roles, getting interviews and failing, eventually finding that one success. Then, move across the country to start up a brand new life, leaving your entire family, friends, and support system behind for this dream job/role.
Knowing that can all be ripped away from you on a random Wednesday, setting you back immensely in a job market that's already unhealthy, only getting worse with the powerful benefits of AI potentially replacing roles....well, there is a lot of anxiety and fear for the future in this environment.
- Will I be able to get another job in this industry anytime soon?
- Will I have to move back home and start over, again?
- Will I deplete my savings paying bills while job searching?
- (if in a relationship) If I have to move away, do we break up, or does this put heavy strain on our relationship that we can't come back from?
- (if solo provider) Can I get a job and not impact my spouse's life, and kids, daycare, etc?

It's a lot of fear, which is anxiety, and these layoffs raise that emotion quite a bit.
