I don’t think we talk nearly enough about making room for mistakes and giving grace in relationships.
Almost everyone seems ready to cut people off and stay hyper-vigilant at the slightest misstep.
As long as your heart is pure and your intentions are genuine, never stress over what you can’t control. What’s meant for you will find you, and what leaves was never yours to keep.
I wrote a few years back that every Christmas I used to meet up with old mates from school. Eventually, I stopped meeting them as all they did was speak about the past. It was as if their lives were over.
Actually, I think surface level friendships are healthy. VERY healthy actually. Not everyone in your life is meant to be your ride or die. Some friends are for the gym, others are for gaming, some are just for complaining about work and the bullshit of the world. When you stop expecting everyone to be everything, the disappointment disappears. You allow people to show up are they are and you get to categorize where they go in your life.
the key to an exceptional relationship with your parents after your 20s is learning to love them for who they are. not as your parents, but as the people they are with all their imperfections. otherwise you will grow resentful to the point that you will not be able to stand them.
i think one of the most beautiful feeling is when you get so comfortable with someone that you find urself telling them things you've never told anyone else before
This is the last thing I'm gonna say about the current ragebait debate. I am 32. I was a teenager less than 15 years ago. Survival was obtainable and enjoyable. Stop letting them tell you this hellscape is normal, I will fight with you that it is not.
