Dear [Senator's Name],
I am writing to urge you to vote in favor of any legislation that opposes "gender ideology". Teachers and activists are ignoring the parents who decry these harmful and confusing messages which undermine traditional values and promote a distorted view of human sexuality and gender identity.
Gender ideology, drag queen story hour, "queer theory", etc. are all part of a larger movement that seeks to disrupt the family unit, our traditions, and our values.
As a representative of our state, I implore you to take a stand against these dangerous and destructive ideas. Our children's futures depend on it, and we must do everything in our power to protect them and maintain our rights as parents.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing back from you and hope that you will do the right thing.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
@sleepy_devo 1) We don't comment on Canadian politics. Nobody gives a shit about your fake ass country.
2) Oh yeah, 3.8 million square miles of frozen wasteland populated by suicidal Kmart Americans is exactly what we're looking for in a 51st state.
@ThePapaGut Imagine how shocked I was to find a take from you that wasn't absolutely fucking retarded.
Tell "papagut" i said that... whatever DNC operative runs this page.
@KarlaClaire_9 “Perhaps giving the government a favorite denomination isn’t the brightest idea.” was certainly the sentiment. They certainly didn't want a state mandated religion. They just clearly weren't anti-religion. All i was sayin.
Most of the original state constitutions had hard religious rules like tests for holding office. There were deists, there were atheists, but in the 1700's historians estimate that 90+% of people were religious.
My point is that religion played a not insignificant role in the creation of the founding documents.
@OrinKerr@SteveWood59@McCormickProf Packing the court WILL destroy the rule of law in the US. If you vote for the people vowing to do that, what does it matter when you vote?
There is a growing population of people in this country who are realizing that they are doomed and were so from the outset. You will never be able to defeat populism unless you can find a way to reach these people.
This is fundamental and something nobody seems to get about Trump's supporters. People see them as brainwashed cultists who will support him no matter what, even if he breaks his promises.
In reality, they're not supporting him because they love him. They're supporting him because the establishment clearly hates him.
Doctors are able to refuse to perform procedures at their discretion. They can decide a patient is too young, too old, unable to provide informed consent, and a million other reasons.
You cannot force doctors to do procedures you want them to do. You also can't dictate what they wear, what they eat, what they watch on TV, etc.
You can however find a doctor that is willing to do the procedure. By the way 60-65% of these doctors are female.
"As a matter of law, no U.S. state currently requires a married woman to obtain her husband's permission before undergoing a hysterectomy. The patient's own informed consent is generally sufficient, assuming she is a competent adult. Federal regulations governing hysterectomies and state informed-consent laws focus on the patient's consent, not the spouse's."
@Mihaellawliet1@marpan8iv@soigomaa Marriage is even more than that. You're pledging you life to your partner. You're giving them legal permission to act on your behalf should you be incapacitated, etc.
@marpan8iv@Mihaellawliet1@soigomaa Suicide prevents pregnancy also. The outcome isn't the issue.
When you get married you're agreeing that in some states you can't render your family unit permanently unable to have children unless both you and your husband agree to that.
