Just imagine, you’d be able to legally go to the local farmers market, sell the beef you’ve grown, to your neighbors, and not have huge fines and penalties levied against you!!
On the other side, imaging being able to purchase cuts of beef from right down the road!

This is why when it was originally introduced I produced a digital flier to try to get it traction in the district and local large cities.

Officer Asad Zahir swore an oath to serve the public. “𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘹-𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥, 𝘐’𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭’𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?” That’s Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, describing the exact abuse Kentucky investigators say Zahir committed — using his access to a nationwide license-plate camera network to stalk the mother of his own child 𝟐,𝟎𝟒𝟖 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 in just five months.

Zahir, a patrol officer since 2022, ran the searches on two vehicles registered to the woman — one plated in Kentucky, one in Indiana — from January through May, according to court records. Officials say he listed the reason for every search as a drug or narcotics investigation, even though the woman was never a suspect in any drug case and has no record of one. Investigators say the real motive was simpler: he wanted to know where his child’s mother was, and the cameras told him.

The pattern did not surface because a supervisor caught it — it surfaced because Flock’s own AI auditing tool, rolled out after a wave of similar abuse nationwide, flagged Zahir’s search history as anomalous. He was arrested on August 25, suspended without pay, and charged with 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫. The woman he tracked had already sought a protective order against him months earlier, citing threats and harassment.

Zahir’s arrest landed the same week Missouri Senator Josh Hawley fired off a letter to Flock Safety’s CEO — first reported by Axios — opening a formal investigation into how the company’s network of more than 𝟏𝟐𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐬 across the country collects and stores Americans’ driving data. Hawley wants every confirmed misuse case since January 2021 turned over by September 8th. Zahir just became one more entry on that list.

Zahir is not an outlier — he is a pattern. In the weeks before his arrest, Florida authorities busted a Haines City officer for tracking his estranged wife through the same system, and a Sarasota officer for running an unrelated woman’s plate more than 300 times with no case attached. “𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭,” DeSantis said. The technology sold to your town as a crime-fighting tool is only as trustworthy as the officer sitting at the keyboard — and right now, nobody’s checking who’s watching the watchers.

@RandyGoat How about helping our cattle farmers survive by allowing direct to market sales through existing processors? Minimizing the USDA bullshit paperwork backlogs?
Reduce processing headaches and cost and it directly reduces customer pricing.

Oh wait, that’s what the PRIME Act does!
