We had the amazing @Sharenaleesatti come in to talk to our Year 8s about National Poetry Week, what poetry is and who can be a poet. Everyone created the most beautiful poetry about themselves and their own identities! Some even shared their poems with their whole year group!
Our aim at BVGA when it comes to reading is to find the right book for every student. We have opened an Amazon Wish List with both books for the library and class sets for their English lessons. If you would like to purchase a book please follow the link: https://t.co/ezH3cNrXT1
It was so lovely to meet all of our students coming into Year 7 in September this transition day. We had a great time making some food related poetry! The poems were amazing!
Congratulations to all our Year 11s who have just finished their final English exam. We’re so proud of you and look forward to seeing where you go from here! Thank you so much for your generous (and humorous) gifts! #BVGAExcellence
Miss Nelson’s Year 8s have had a really good go at making some blackout poetry using extracts from the novels they have studied #bvgaexcellence#confidentlearners
If you love poetry @n_ehmed, an amazing poet herself, is running a Bradford Writes session at City Library on Saturday 27th April! Find the information below…
Well done to Jasmin in Miss Nelson's Year 7 English class who has taken the initiative and completed some very good independent learning this half term #BVGAexcellence#confidentlearners
Mrs Evans Year 7 have produced some fabulous set designs for Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', focusing on showing how Athens is very controlled, but the forest is where passions and chaos rule! #ConfidentLearners#BVGAExcellence
Many of our Y7 students studied and wrote a letter responding to the cutting down of the Sycamore Gap tree in September last year. There is now an update about how conservation (one of our key words!) techniques are being used to bring the tree back! https://t.co/N8q1erdCEJ
