I started freelancing in 2014. It was in my second semester as a student of FUTA. My first ever gig on Fiverr was a $5 gig. I moved from that to several thousands of $$$$$ monthly.

I have been through the full cycle: @fiverr, @Upwork, @problogger, @LinkedIn, and more. I have done many, many, many thousands of $$$$$$ over the last near-decade. I have written for some of the biggest tech publications in the world. A contributor for @Forbes once mentioned one of my articles as an article that was in reading early in 2022. I have articles that have gotten hits on @Techmeme, @AngelList, and more. I’ve been invited to attend and speak at some of the largest and most innovative tech events across the globe.

I am friends with some of Nigeria’s best minds in the freelancing space, including @Mesioyejohnson, @omoalhajaabiola, @OlamideTowobola, and others— and have done incredible work with some of them. I have access to some of the biggest and most forward-thinking founders and CEOs in the world.

Now, while I believe the above is impressive, it’s not why you should follow me. If you want to learn practical stuff from someone who’s real, open, not afraid to be vulnerable, and without any gimmicks, then you follow, share and engage.

I didn’t write all you’ve just read to boast. I wrote it to let you know that I have been here for a while and if you’re experiencing some difficulties right now, chances are that I’ve experienced them before. I am real. I know about the instability of freelancing. I know about freelance famine. Heck, I just got out of one. I understand how much of a rollercoaster freelancing can be.

I want you to know that I am on your side.

What I want to do is offer support and guidance to freelancers as much as I can. For many years, I was in the shadows, sticking to my cocoon, and just keeping a small close-knit community together. I’ve since realized that many more people could learn a thing or two that would be helpful to their journey. So, I have decided to post more here.

I will be sharing everything from freelancing tips to opportunities to motivation to humor (trust me, you need it) to real-life experiences, and more. I should warn that I could be a bit too direct at times, but that’s probably for the best. Truth needs no sugar-coating.

If you’re a freelancer or know freelancers who are just starting out or need to scale their business, please repost this tweet and give me a follow.
