My dad - the same guy who built a wedding barn in the field where my mom's ashes are spread so she could "be at" my wedding - is about to drive 2K miles to park his campervan in my driveway so he can help us through the fog when the twins arrive in a few days. #DadGoals, always.
The time has come: I'm heading out on maternity leave, and will return to my role as @Hou_Landing's senior storyteller in early 2025.
In the meantime, I'm going to try to be less online so I can focus on being a mom of 3 under 3 (🫣) when the twins come ... any day now.
This interview I did with @politico seems pertinent today. #JDVance

Tonight, the lights came back on. Yes, we are tearing up.
This week was the longest that we have ever had to close the bookshop. Longer than Ike, or even Harvey. In fact, we have been closed more days this month than we've been open. Needless to say, we miss y'all.
Loren, my grandson loves this book so much. He’s 2 going on 3. When he pointed out that no one was driving the bus after it went to the valley, know I have a reader. And he loves the endpapers. Be still my heart.
We LOVE this book. Congratulations, @lorenlong!

Photo of new library layout at #HISD elementary school sparks outrage. Askew Elementary School is being transformed under Mike Miles "New Education System" into a "team center."

Just come over to Dairy Ashford and Memorial. There is no light cycle where the red is not run. All four corners. No one moves without checking all cars.
When Will was 18 months old, we traveled to Colorado to go fly fishing with Greg’s family. Why didn’t I bring 50 books? We read Once Upon A Potty at least 500 times. I guess it worked. And we did have to look in the adult section.
The rage that Houston drivers have for you if you simply refuse to block the box or right turn on red at rush hour (when it’s most likely to endanger a pedestrian!!) should be studied.
