When it seems like everything from your life has been taken away, remember what’s important in it. It’s not what you do, it’s the people you impact, the people around you that depend on you. That is what is truly essential to life.
I’m starting a podcast! It’s called “Drew Sorta Knows Science” and it’s about what happened the previous week in the world of science +more! Episode 0 is live now and talks more about what it is and what you can expect. Check it out on Apple & Spotify! https://t.co/O6AZhku7vZ
I’d rather be wrong and be too low on my predictions, but this should point out the severity of this. We need to do our part and stop the spread of this. Also the model may be behind due to the timeframe of testing and delay of results.
I meant to say "too high on my predictions". Here is my excel spreadsheet over the last 10 days as well as graphing each data point with its own graph. My estimate is that any precaution is likely 3 days behind the data. Keep an eye on the growth factor, once that number drops1/2
before it gets out of control. We are a few days "behind" other countries on the severity of the virus, and will likely see it take a course similar to other countries. Let us not look back upon and think what we could have done, better to be safe than sorry. 2/2
Each day for some time will be the worst day in the US for COVID-19, with delay in testing it will be some time before the precautions are evident in the data. I hate to see that my predictions for Friday will be too low. We need to do our part to decrease the spread of this 1/2
as an outline of conditions each person faces. The parameters need to be adjusted to match current predictions. I will be updating this data each day. Do your part and help to reduce the spread of this and save lives. #OnlyyoucanpreventthespreadofCOVID19. 3/3
This is one in a series of tweets about COVID-19, I am hoping this will open you up to the severity of the virus. You may not be at risk, but I guarantee someone you know is and have family members who are. Take the necessary precautions to limit the spread of this 1/3
virus. Social distancing helps to limit the reproduction number of any virus, the amount of new cases that come from one case. Lowering the spread helps to prevent a nightmare scenario for the healthcare system. The SEIR/F model is contingent on parameters and is meant 2/3
It's been well over a year, with many, many failures, but we finally have a new SDQL Master. Congratulations to Charlie's Hustle @CharliesHustle2!
I will be tweeting out some of the questions on the exam that he successfully answered.
