We are digging back into our old shared reading articles all the way from the first week of school until last week to compare and contrast.
Students are working collaboratively to answer questions ranging from perspective to text structure.

We love @nearpod for sharing ideas for future shared reading topics and the interactive slides with Black Holes!
The oohs and ahhs are so fun!

The motto in our pod matches our learning today.
We used the Epic app and our Toys book for comparisons on the Lego toy.
We love learning about some of our favorite toys' histories!

What did our Friday look like...song of the week, double timelines on our biographies, suspense guided reading groups, and receipt pad poetry inspired by William Carlos Williams.
Just a whole bunch of fun!

The 6th graders in Mrs. Gorenflo's room are getting ready for informational writing. They worked together to collect information from multiple sources. What a great way to see the importance of varied sources! #BigBlueontheMove#BeBrookwood#prepareforthefair
Working with biographies and text structures...we found another amazing quote.
We also continue to write our own stories of hard work and fantastic collaboration.

We celebrated our 4, 5, and 6 grade students @Brookwood_HCSD today for their SUPER performance on last years state assessments. Students passed down quotes and songs to the next grade and challenged them to Raise the Bar” this year!! ❤️ this BW family
Mrs. Southard’s kindergarten class co-authored their first class book this week! They wrote a nonfiction book about spiders. They learned that a nonfiction text has realistic pictures and photographs. @Brookwood_HCSD#writingisfun#BeBrookwood#BigBlueOnTheMove
Fantastic collaboration happening @Brookwood_HCSD during grade level data talks. Love hearing passionate educators make data informed decisions to best meet students where they are and help them to soar! And of course coffee and chocolate.
Ending our historical fiction unit with a collaborative assessment.
Students are applying quotes on success they selected earlier in the year to their completed books.
Love hearing their thinking!
The highlight of my day was this kinder class writing me a letter to share their connections about reading! Just finished my letter back and can’t wait to send their way tomorrow with a bag of smarties! Great thinking!!! Thanks for choosing me! @Brookwood_HCSD#BigBlueOnTheMove
